Soft Picasso
The idea was to quilt together separate pieces of stuffed animals that were taken apart to make a new work. The frame holds the work together. The stuffed animal faces that became abstract throughout the piece reminded me of Picasso’s paintings of figures.
"Untitled"
Stuffed animals taken apart and resembled similar to a quilting practice. I was trying to create something like pedals around a painted panel. Combining fine art and a child’s crafted toy.

"Forever"
A Toronto Maple Leaf Flag cut into a quilt and reassembled behind a painted panel. Forever having to do with die hard fans but also a different meaning to the artist Kim Wilkie.
"Remember"
Quilted soft material (stuffed animal material) to form a flower head of a red poppy. Again a double meaning.
"Metatron"
Painted recycled hockey nets (2) from Costa Rica. These hockey nets had hockey goalie’s on them and I began to paint them and they came together like a mechanical man then I realized it needed wings. I thought quite a good angel! But the name Meta came to me because of his mechanical look and the only angel that began with Meta (information from my son) was Metatron!

"Star Or Sun"
Lace, crinoline, behind a painted panel. Fine art and craft pulled together. Describing two experiences of the artist.
"Kor Che Or Sebak"
I quilted a ring of material from a flannel sheet and wove this Alligator into it. It appears that the alligator is coming through a portal. Or like sound- vibrating.

"Between Awake and Asleep"
Many materials left over in the studio which have been embellished with stitching and embroidery as well as paint to make this wonderfully large pillow approximately 5 feet x 5 feet x 15 inches high.
