Intuitively Laid String, Thread, Jute and Materials- Abstract Impressionist Landscapes
Each of the landscapes in this gallery block below are imaginary landscapes created with string and acrylic paint. I began doing these as a way of expressing myself when I needed a new place to be in my mind.... if things in my life didn't seem to be going the way I thought they should. One of the first paintings that I did to bring myself to a new place is below and is called "Where I'd Rather Be."
Some of the tree expressions are memories of places I actually visited and my interpretation in string.
"Eroding Landscape" A Four Panel Overview Landscape Already Matted Separately.
These four matted artworks are pieces of a string landscape artwork in oil that I did some years ago.... I let them sit a while, then I decided that they were not finished, so I began stitching on the pieces. Some of the oil cracked off for a really nice affect. I used different coloured string as well as ceramic transistors on wire here and there to give two points of view to the landscape....it almost feels like a folk art painting in some sense.... but you the viewer can see what you want. I would like to sell them as a set in the order you see here.
