The Garage Gallery Benmiller will be Closed this 2020 Summer Season.

Covid-19 caught me, at first in denial. I thought that this was just a regular flu, I thought I could manage everything here and just be cautious. What was going on out there that everyone was being so dramatic about? But as I came back into the reality of what was really happening and how I could put people at risk, I had to rethink everything. I waited a bit to see if things got better, but it did not get better and so on May 1st, I made the decision to close our gallery for the 2020 Season to protect the vulnerable. Linda Wiebe, Morag Webster and my work (Kim Wilkie) will be shown in the 2021 Summer Season.

Now, I will be putting more time into my art in the studio, reading, and gardening since we just put in a small green house, which has already been time consuming just setting it up, but I am very excited about it. Below are some recent small intuitive paintings (they could be a little surreal). They are 12 Inches x 12 Inches x1 Inch on wood.

My Artwork is in 2 Group Exhibitions one in St.Thomas and one in Toronto !

My art is going places. The Propeller Gallery Toronto this past summer ....

At times I focus towards re-using and the recycling of the materials in my studio, creating new types of objects that can still be hung on the wall and gives a new meaning to what is called art. I used waste materials from thread, string, material, canvas, paint and plastic wrap and any string type material that lands in my studio to create a rug. These images below show my “Rug Painting” at the Propeller Gallery in Toronto this past summer….
